This recipe comes from one of my favorite books "A Little Book for a Little Cook" by L. P. Hubbard. It was originally published by Pillsbury in 1905. As so often with old books the illustrator is not mentioned.

  1. I love the illustration, Margaretha. I wore an apron just like that in kindergarten but I don't think we made muffins.

  2. I don't think I ever wore an apron in kindergarten - I had short hair and wore trousers and was often taken for a boy. Later in life I've made aprons like that though, they are comfortable and practical.
