Mind won over body

It took a while, but the mind finally succeeded in per-suading my body to leave the comfortable divan. We compromised a bit and decided to have dinner first (we eat dinner in the early afternoon) but bring the dessert.
So off we went.

It was a beautiful day – and as always we had this lovely spot to ourselves.

This kind of "garden stool" is invaluable for old ladies picking berries or weeding.

Back home the packed picnic dessert waited in the kitchen!

  1. I am so glad that you decided to go or we wouldn't have those wonderful photographs. The still, clear water is so different from our crashing waves and we don't have those beautiful tall trees. I hope you enjoyed the dessert when you got home!

  2. Maureen,
I want it all - crashing waves, clear water and mountains!
But I'm so grateful for all the beauty that surrounds us here. And I hope for more sunny days, so I can pick more berries before they fall off the plants. But today is not very inviting - cloudy and only 10°.

Your photos made me think of a lovely but melancholy song about tall trees. I have posted it on my blog as I didn't know how to make a link for you here. I can imagine Eva Cassidy sitting by your river and singing her sad song.

  4. Maureen,
Thank you for showing me this. I would never have found it on my own, as I'm not very fond of vocal music. But she has a lovely voice - and I found myself enjoying her song. It's certainly good to get outside the box sometimes!
