We bought some local grown vegeatbles yesterday — it's amazing how much better those "real" vegetables taste than the so called vegetables that we buy in the store.
I don't grow any vegetables in our gardens for two reasons, even if I love to eat homegrown food I'm more interested in growing flowers and second I don't have the strength to grow things that needs my attention. It is quite enough to prevent the house from disappearing under the weeds.
I grew lettuce and tomatoes on my patio this year. Just two things that hardly needed my attention to see how the whole gardening thing would go. The first time I picked the lettuce, I was shocked at how wonderful it tasted!!
SvaraRaderaThank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I like the name of your blog (as I'm fond of tea!) and I agree with you, there is always time to have a little break with a cup of tea (preferably in the garden ;-) !!). Enjoy your teatime!

Thanks for your visit. I really like your blog. Vegetables don't need a concentration camp, they are decorative in their own right. A tomato bush does very well among the roses, spinach and beetroot leaves are decorative and useful as well, onions keep the aphids off roses, and a lettuce here and there is as pretty as decorative kale. God did not separate plants into useful and decorative so why should we?
SvaraRaderaArija,
SvaraRaderaYes I agree, but my problem is that I don't even have the energy to care for the decorative plants. I'm happy if I can mow the lawns and remove parts of the weed every now and then. Not to mention that I try to pick the berries and fruit - and do something with it before it perish.
