I’ve just ordered some books, books have always been more expensive here than in many other countries — but today when I can sit at home and order books from my computer, they have become quite affordable. Too affordable, as I have a tendency to buy many books, as they are so cheap. It’s like eating or drinking the double amount of something with “light” on the label!!
Project Gutenberg and on-line bookstores — what a perfect combination!
My last Gutenberg find is “Jane Lends A Hand” by Shirley Watkins, a book for children from 1923. So far I’ve only read two chapters, but I find it amusing — and will continue. It’s the kind of book I like when I have misplaced my brain but need a good read.
Two of the books I hope will arrive soon are “Brightsided” by Barbara Ehrenreich and Jacqueline Winspear’s last book about Maisie Dobbs, “A Lesson in Secrets”, which is to be released this week.
We still have plenty of snow, even if we’ve had some beautiful and sunny days with temperatures above +-0°C, the nights are still very cold.
I have a copy of Jane Lends a Hand at home in Bath, Ohio...I collect some older children's books. Also, I have the new Windspeare preordered, and the newest in the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency is coming out the same day. Pretty exciting.

The Maisie Dobbs book arrived this morning, so I've juast finished chapter four. It's as captivating as the previous books.
I have to admit that I grew tired of the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency books, after the five first books.
I'm sure Florida is a good choice this time of the year!

A friend just gave me the new Maisie Dobbs, and I can't wait to begin! I so love those books. I'm just reading the latest Mma Ramotswe and I never tire of the books. It feels like I am heading back to Botswana, a country I will never see in my real life, to have a sweet visit with one of my favorite fictional characters.
SvaraRaderaMaisie Dobbs doesn't half get around! I've read about her latest exploits from an American blogger, and now from yourself, and my copy arrived yesterday here in the UK! What a gal Maisie is, a sleuth well travelled, you might say!

SvaraRaderaOh, I love her too. I finished the book some days ago, and now my mother is half way through it.
It must be a tremendous amount of research behind every book - about the war, how people lived and England’s political standpoint.
I won’t say too much about the book other than Maisie is just as fantastic as always - but I found the story a tad thinner than the previous.
