Today's window
Maureen at Random Distractions had a lovely picture the other day of a woman standing by a window. A couple of other bloggers (Musings from a muddy island and 60 going on 16) put up "window art" at the same time — I promised to look for "window pictures" when back home; looking through my files I found this painting from the south part of Sweden by the painter Jacob Kulle (1838-1898).
I also realized that I have several other illustrations that would fit into the description — they'll follow.
Very lovely, and such simplicity. There's no decoration in that space, is there? As much as I love plain and uncluttered, somehow that scene makes me sad. The power of paintings!
SvaraRaderaNo, not much to dust! But if you look to the left of the standing woman you can see that there are paintings, I'm not sure if it is on the wall or if it is a blue cupboard. It looks as traditional peasant paintings.
SvaraRaderaWe will never know if the painter chose to remove the clutter or if it looked like this.

I'm curious about number 8 - picture books as audio books, how does that work - are the pictures included?
SvaraRaderaPersonally I don't like to listen to books but I have read some of the books on your list and some of them are favorite books; like Ruth Sawyers books. There is a sequel to Roller Skates, which I didn't find quite as good as the first book. Did you know that Ruth Sawyers daughter married Robert McCloskey - another favorite?
Charlotte's Web is another lovely book even if I like E. B. White's essays even better.
